Technical Trainer
This position will play a key role in the support of the Company’s internal and customer related training requirements. This will include the capturing of training requirements, the preparation of training material, the delivery of the training and the production of supporting material including User Guides. The role will require a thorough understanding of the technologies we provide as part of our Managed Services and an ability to deliver the training in a language targeted at the technical and experience level of the trainees. This job role will be based at the Company’s premises in Stoke-on-Trent and delivered to a variety of geographically dispersed Customer sites.
The Technical trainer will work closely with SecureCloud+ Transition Delivery and Service Operations Teams, partners and vendors in order to build the appropriate level of knowledge for each training course.
You will travel to customer locations to deliver training course and refresher session. This is likely to take up to around 25% of your time with overnight stays from time to time.
Key responsibilities for this role may include:
Training Needs Analysis:
- Carry out Training Needs Analysis workshops to identify:
- The training audience and stakeholders
- The roles associated with the subject of the training
- The training gap analysis
- Draft training objectives
- Training options
- Produce a Training Needs Analysis report
Training Design and Development:
- Produce a Learning Specification for each course module detailing Training Objectives, Enabling Objectives and Key Learning Points
- Produce Lesson Plans
- Develop training exercises
- Produce training content including presentations, handouts and other training material
Training Delivery:
- Set up training environments at SecureCloud+ premises and on Customer sites
- Deliver training to SecureCloud+ personnel and to Customers
- Carry out post training delivery assessment to ensure continual improvement
User / Support Documentation:
- Produce User Guides and Manuals
- Produce Maintenance Guides
Internal training planning:
- Coordinate the development of the internal training requirements for SecureCloud+
- Source suitable training courses to meet the development needs
- Liaise with HR and Team leaders to agree training and training budgets
Testing
- Work with the technical teams to support the development of testing plans and the completion of testing – as part of building service knowledge and training material.
Education and Experience Requirements
As the Technical Trainer, you will have:
- Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification
- Great attention to detail and used to working to high levels of quality
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence when interacting with Customer personnel at all levels
- Confidence when interacting with skilled technical personnel
- Ability to ably represent the Company when working at Customer sites
- A commitment to continually develop technical and training delivery skills
- Initiative and proactiveness, matched by an ability to be a strong member of a team
- Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements
- Have or be able to obtain the appropriate security clearance (at least at SC level)
- Experience of sourcing high quality training solutions for internal teams – technical and non-technical
- Experience of delivering training in MOD/ Military environments would be beneficial
- Experience of delivering technical training in commercial/ non-military
- environment would be beneficial
- Ability to establish and develop a new role within the organisation
Understanding of the types of technologies used within our product set. This should include an understanding of how various technologies are employed for the following:
- Technical collaboration solutions
- Server and network infrastructure
- Unified communications tools
- High security environments and technical solutions delivered into those environments
